Go Mini’s Came to Our Rescue
When Hurricane Helene hit Northeast Tennessee, it hit Hampton, Tennessee, pretty hard. Our school - Hampton High School - survived, but had significant damage. For the next 16 months the Bulldogs would be attending school at the former Keenburg Elementary.
Teachers were not allowed to enter the damaged high school to retrieve any supplies, personal things, not even books. So, everything laid dormant until November 24, when we were allowed to go into our classrooms. We could retrieve anything we wanted to keep - everything else would be placed in a dumpster.
Imagine our surprise and worry - we could finally get our "stuff," but what in the world would we do with all of it until January 5 - our moving back home day? If you aren't a teacher nor have a teacher in your family - please understand: women teachers hoard everything! We were the ones running to our school to get our things...with no place to store them. We had a LOT of stuff!! None of us had storage space at home; we sure didn’t want to pack it in our homes to be an eyesore during the holidays. Furthermore, we did not wish to load it in our vehicles, unload it at our homes or somewhere, and then reload it for transport back to Hampton High in January. What a frustrating time! The holidays were coming up and we had all this stuff!!
This is where GO MINI'S of Johnson City came to our rescue!
A call was placed on 20th to the Go Mini’s office requesting a storage container for us. We spoke to Tyler Burner (our angel in disguise), and with no hesitation, Tyler was all in to assist us in our dilemma.
A storage container would be delivered to Hampton High School on Monday for teachers to use to store everything needed… at NO COST!! What an answer to prayers! GO MINI’s graciously allowed us to keep the container until moving day on January 6. Our things were securely stored conveniently at our school, giving all teachers easy access to retrieve them on our moving day.
During a challenging time, GO MINI’S gave the Hampton High School teachers not only a safe place to rely on, but also peace of mind. We are truly thankful for their generosity and support when it mattered most. Had it not been for their support and kindness, we would have been forced to leave behind many of our beloved belongings due to the lack of storage space at our homes. It was heartbreaking to even think of it all being trashed!
In our time of desperation, God sent angels to us through Tyler Burner and GO MINI’S. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
