Do You Know the Non-Allowables?

Go-Mini’s are perfect for storing all those extra items you have, or to help you with storage during a home project, or even as a DIY relocation solution. However, there are a few items that should NOT be stored in your container, we refer to these as “non-allowables” these items are not safe for storage or transport, as they are safety or fire hazards for you, your belongings, and our delivery drivers.

Why are some items considered non-allowables?

For the safety of you, our employees, our equipment, and our facility, by law we are unable to transport or store any items that are considered hazardous, flammable, or perishable. Non-allowable items include:

Hazardous Materials:

  • Alcohol
  • Antifreeze Compounds
  • Disinfectants
  • Sterno
  • Fire Extinguisher
  • Household Batteries
  • Matches
  • Aerosols
  • Chemistry Sets
  • Kerosene
  • Cleaning Solvents
  • Darkroom Chemicals
  • Gasoline
  • Ammonia
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Propane & Tanks
  • Nail Polish
  • Motor Oil
  • Fireworks
  • Nail Polish Remover
  • Car Batteries
  • Charcoal
  • Liquid Bleach
  • Fertilizer
  • Charcoal Lighter
  • Paints
  • Pesticides
  • Ammunition

Heat Sensitive Items:

We suggest that heat sensitive items not be packed in your container. This suggestion is especially important if your items will be in your storage unit for an extended period of time.
Note: These items are loaded at your own risk.

Heat sensitive items include things like:

  • Decorative Candles
  • Computer Diskettes
  • Videotapes
  • Compact Disks
  • Cassette Tapes
  • Record Albums
  • Photos
  • DVDs
  • Cell phones and tablets
  • Various electronic devices

Perishable items:

We also ask that you refrain from storing perishable items in your container. Those items include things like:

  • Frozen Foods
  • Produce
  • Open/used foods
  • Refrigerated Food
  • Plants

You will also likely want to avoid storing food items of any kind inside your container, as it will be kept outside. This will help avoid unwanted visitors and critters.

Personal Valuables and Documents:

We suggest that irreplaceable items and/or sentimental items be carried with you instead of being packed with your other household belongings. This suggestion is especially important if your shipment must temporarily be placed in storage until final delivery. Note: These items are loaded at your own risk.
