Go Mini's of Twin Falls gives military families a practical alternative to government-contracted movers: a portable storage container delivered to your door, loaded on your schedule, and transported when you’re ready. Whether you’re PCSing into the Twin Falls area or heading out, our container model is built around the realities of military relocation, not a standard residential moving calendar. We serve Twin Falls and the surrounding Magic Valley counties as a locally owned operation, so when you call, you reach our team directly.
If you’re pursuing a Personally Procured Move (PPM), also called a DITY move, a Go Mini’s portable storage container can be a cost-effective tool. Get a free quote online or call (208) 759-4810 to check availability and container sizing.
How the PPM (DITY Move) Allowance Works & Where We Fit
A Personally Procured Move allows military families to manage their own relocation rather than using a government-contracted mover. The government reimburses PPM families up to 100% of what it would have cost to hire a government contractor. When a family completes the move for less than that estimate, they may keep the difference. This makes cost control a direct financial benefit.
Portable storage containers fit naturally into this model. Because Go Mini's of Twin Falls handles delivery and transport while you handle loading, costs can be more predictable than coordinating a crew-based move. Our flexible rental periods mean you’re only paying for the time you actually need, which can help keep total PPM costs below the government estimate. Before booking, confirm your PPM eligibility and documentation requirements with your installation’s transportation office.
When you plan a PPM from or to Twin Falls, it helps to think about your move in stages. First, you will typically need an approved weight estimate from your transportation office and clear guidance on how to document that weight when the container is loaded. Next, you will want to gather receipts and keep a simple log of dates, mileage, and any additional expenses tied directly to the move so you can support your reimbursement request. Finally, after delivery and unloading, you usually must submit your paperwork within a set window, so building those deadlines into your planning can keep your military moving Twin Falls paperwork on track.
Many families also use a PPM to create a little more control over their schedule and living situation. For example, you might choose to time delivery of the container so you can separate essential items from long-term storage, or you might keep the container on-site for a few extra days while you out-process, clean government housing, or complete checklists at your current duty station. Because our pricing is based on the container and time frame you choose, you can make these decisions around what works for your family while still keeping an eye on how those choices affect your overall PPM budget.
Why Military Families Choose Portable Containers for PCS Moves
PCS timelines rarely cooperate. Move-out and move-in dates do not always align, orders can arrive with short notice, and duty obligations do not pause for packing days. A portable container addresses all three.
Self-Paced Loading Once we deliver the container to your current address, it stays there while you load across as many days as you need. You are not racing a moving crew’s schedule or trying to pack a household in a single afternoon between base check-out requirements and school transitions.
Housing Gap Storage When new housing is not ready at the destination, your loaded container stays in secure storage at our facility until you give the word. There is no scramble to arrange temporary storage separately or accept an arbitrary delivery date.
Ground-Level Loading Our containers sit at ground level. No ramp or lift is required. For families loading furniture, appliances, and household goods without a crew, that can make a real difference.
Three Container Sizes We offer 12-foot, 16-foot, and 20-foot containers to match different household volumes. Our local team can help you identify the right size based on what you are moving.
Belongings loaded into a Go Mini’s container travel in that same container to the destination, reducing transfers and handling points along the way.
Because schedules around PCS orders can change quickly, having a container at your home in Twin Falls or elsewhere in the Magic Valley gives you a flexible staging area. You can pack room by room, separate household goods you will need right away from items that can wait, and adjust the pace if duty schedules change. Families with children or pets often appreciate being able to keep daily routines running while slowly clearing out spaces, rather than living through a single disruptive moving day.
Using a container can also simplify the logistics of travel to and from Mountain Home AFB or other regional installations. Once the container leaves your driveway, everything inside stays together until delivery or storage, which means you can focus on your route, lodging, and check-in requirements instead of worrying about multiple handoffs. That continuity often reduces the risk of misplaced items and gives you a single, organized place for everything from kitchen supplies to uniforms and important documents.

The Go Mini’s Military Move Process
Three straightforward steps, scoped to what we actually do.
Step 1: Book Your Container Choose a container size and schedule delivery. If you are not sure which size fits your household, our local team can help you review the options. Confirming delivery access at both your origin and destination addresses helps avoid scheduling delays, especially in housing areas with placement restrictions.
Step 2: Load on Your Timeline The container sits at your address while you pack. There is no moving-day deadline and no crew waiting. Load steadily across days or weeks to fit around duty hours and base check-out obligations.
Step 3: We Handle Transport When you are ready, we pick up the loaded container and deliver it to your new address. If housing is not ready, we hold it in secure storage until you confirm the destination. For cross-country PCS moves, ask about our MINI Miles program for long-distance container transport.
To make these steps work smoothly, it helps to look ahead at both ends of your move. At booking, you can share details such as base gate hours, neighborhood parking rules, or tight driveways so we can plan placement that follows local guidelines. During loading, many families create a simple inventory and label items by room or priority so unloading at the next duty station is faster and more organized. Before transport, we recommend checking that everything inside is secured and balanced, which supports safer travel over the stretches of I-84 and regional highways that often connect Twin Falls to your next post.
Because we focus on the container and transportation side of your relocation, you are in control of how the interior is arranged, what you pack first, and what stays with you in your vehicle. That gives you the flexibility to keep important paperwork, medications, or short-term essentials separate while still consolidating the bulk of your household goods. Families using our service as part of a military moving company Twin Falls strategy often find that this division of responsibilities keeps the process clear: we manage where the container goes and when, and you decide exactly how and when your belongings are loaded and unloaded.
Planning a Military Move in Twin Falls & the Magic Valley
Every PCS has moving parts that are specific to your duty station and the town you are leaving or joining. When you plan a move in or out of Twin Falls, you are balancing base requirements, local housing timelines, and the realities of traveling long stretches of highway through southern Idaho. Using a container gives you one stable piece of the puzzle while you arrange everything else, whether you are moving between neighborhoods in Twin Falls or connecting from the Magic Valley to installations farther across the country.
Local conditions can also shape how you prepare your container. In winter, temperatures in Twin Falls can drop quickly, so many families plan to load sensitive items closer to their departure date and keep cold-weather gear accessible. In summer, you may want to stage items so you can reach fans, outdoor gear, or children’s supplies first when you arrive. Thinking through these details ahead of time means the container works with your travel plan, not against it, and keeps the stress of a military moving service Twin Falls relocation more manageable for everyone in the household.
Because Go Mini's of Twin Falls is locally owned, our team is familiar with common housing layouts, neighborhood access points, and traffic patterns around main routes like US-93 and I-84. When you call, you can describe your driveway, street parking, or base-area address, and we can talk through practical placement options that follow local rules. That local perspective often prevents surprises on delivery day and helps you avoid last-minute changes that could disrupt an already tight PCS schedule.
How Go Mini’s Supports Military Families During PCS Stress
PCS orders can affect every part of family life at once: school schedules, spouse employment, medical care, and community connections. One of the easiest ways to reduce that stress is to simplify anything that can be made predictable, including how and when your household goods move. A portable container gives you a clear, step-by-step path for handling your belongings, which can free up time and energy for the rest of your to-do list.
Because you control the timing of loading and unloading, you can plan move tasks around duty hours, appointments at the base transportation office, or trips between Twin Falls and Mountain Home AFB. Children can keep familiar items in their rooms until closer to departure, and you can leave daily essentials out without worrying about working around a crew schedule. When you are ready to shut the door on the container, you know the majority of your home is already taken care of, even if your report date or housing assignment shifts.
Our local team understands that plans can change quickly once orders are published, especially when housing availability or unit needs change. When you call us, you reach people who live and work in the same region and who are used to adjusting delivery and pickup times within the limits of our schedule. That combination of predictable container transport and human support can make a PCS feel more like a series of manageable steps and less like one overwhelming deadline.

We Were Very Pleased with Go Mini's
Go Mini's delivered an 8ft x 8ft x 20ft waterproof container, and we had a 3-bedroom house and filled it with boxes in the rear, followed by furniture and then the appliances. We had 4 hanger boxes for our clothes. We visited them quite often throughout the process of our new house build. We filled the container all the way to the doors. We were very pleased with Go Mini's throughout our journey to a new home. Thanks.

Recommend Them Highly
I had the 20x8x8 unit in my backyard for about a year. The delivery and pickup was wonderful; they worked with me and my schedule so I didn’t have to take off from work. Had it delivered and picked up on a Saturday. The fact that it was in my yard made loading and unloading the unit so convenient I could work at my own pace. Recommend them highly. And found that when I was looking for a unit they had the largest units available.
