PCS orders and temporary duty assignments rarely align with ideal housing timelines. Coordinating report dates, school schedules, and household logistics can become overwhelming, especially when plans change with little notice. Go Mini's of High Point provides military families in High Point with a practical moving solution using portable storage containers that support flexibility, control, and predictable timing.
Portable containers are delivered directly to your driveway or approved parking area, allowing you to pack according to your own schedule. Once loading is complete, transportation and storage are handled based on your needs. This approach helps reduce the pressure of one-day moves and supports families managing deployments, split households, or uncertain move-in dates.
Military life often requires adaptability. Our process is designed to support that reality through clear communication, transparent scheduling, and options that work within availability. The goal is to simplify the physical side of moving so families can focus on orders, transitions, and daily responsibilities.
Military Moving Support for PCS Orders
When PCS orders arrive, move-out deadlines are usually firm, while move-in dates may be unclear. Housing waitlists, temporary lodging, or unaccompanied tours can make traditional truck-based moves impractical. Portable containers offer an alternative that allows packing over several days rather than forcing everything into a single weekend.
Using containers for military moving in High Point helps families maintain control over what is packed and when. This is especially helpful when one spouse is already at the next duty station or deployed, leaving the other to manage the move independently. Packing can happen in stages without rushing or relying on outside help.
If a lease ends before housing becomes available, belongings can be loaded once, picked up, and stored securely until delivery is possible. Items remain in the same container from start to finish, reducing handling and eliminating the need to move belongings between trucks and storage units.
Align your move with your orders using flexible scheduling that adjusts when your report date shifts. Get a free quote online or call (743) 910-6530.
How the Military Moving Process Works
Scheduling and Container Delivery
Once approximate dates are known, our team reviews your timeline and recommends container size options. Delivery is typically scheduled several days before move-out, providing time to pack without last-minute stress. On delivery day, the container is placed in a suitable location, usually a driveway or designated parking area.
Packing and On-Site Use
Containers sit at ground level, which makes loading safer and more manageable. Families often pack in the evenings or over multiple weekends. Children, pets, and daily routines can continue with less disruption. If more time is needed, rental extensions may be available depending on capacity.
Transport and Storage Options
When loading is complete, the container is picked up and either delivered to a new address in the region or stored at a secure facility. If housing is delayed, the container remains stored until a confirmed move-in date is established. The same container is delivered to the new home, maintaining continuity throughout the move.
Why Military Families Use Container-Based Moving
Portable containers reduce physical strain by eliminating high truck ramps and repeated lifting. Furniture and boxes are handled fewer times, which can lower the risk of damage. For families managing moves with limited help, this approach often feels more manageable.
Local familiarity also matters. Neighborhood layouts, driveway slopes, and access limitations vary across High Point. These details are reviewed in advance to support safe placement. Pricing is structured around clear components such as delivery, rental duration, transport, and storage, which helps with budgeting and planning.
Planning a Military Move in This Area
Moves within the Triad region often require careful timing. Container transport can be scheduled to align with local housing availability while minimizing unnecessary trips. Driveway size, parking rules, and community guidelines are discussed before delivery.
If staying temporarily with family while waiting on housing, a container can still serve as primary storage. Belongings are loaded once and stored until delivery to a long-term residence. Planning how items are packed also helps with access after arrival.
Helpful packing tips include:
Pack a clearly labeled "first week" group of boxes near the container door.
Group boxes by room to make unloading faster.
Place heavier items toward the back and bottom for stability.
Keep important documents and medications with you.

Amazing difference in cost and service
I just completed a move from central NC to Charleston, SC using one of those well-known, national container moving companies and then a separate container move with Go Mini of High Point. Amazing difference in cost and service. Price for full 18' container was much less. From the driver to the staff and regional manager - top notch people in efficiency, reliability, and especially in the outcome. Biggest feature is the delivery time: just 2 days from container pickup to delivery to new residence. Driver/Scott makes it happen according to your schedule. Strongly recommend Go Mini.
