Portable Storage Containers for PCS Moves & Military Relocations
Military relocations run on government timelines that can shift with little notice. A Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move rarely fits neatly around a moving crew’s fixed schedule. Go Mini's of Asheville delivers portable storage containers directly to your door in Hendersonville, NC, so you load on your schedule, not someone else’s.
We’re locally owned and operated, and we already serve Henderson County families managing moves of every kind. Our military moving service brings the same container model to service members: we deliver, you load at your own pace, and we transport the container to your new location or hold it in secure storage until you’re ready.

Why Hendersonville Military Families Choose Go Mini's of Asheville
As a locally owned business, we focus on personalized service rather than volume. Our team is here to guide you through the container process from delivery to pickup without pressure or confusion.
A few things that matter on a military move:
Ground-level loading: Our containers sit at ground level, so there’s no ramp to wrestle with when you’re loading heavy furniture or equipment.
Driveway protection: Padded wheels prevent damage to your driveway and property during delivery and pickup.
Flexible rental periods: Keep the container as long as you need. If orders change, your rental period can flex with them.
Transparent pricing: No hidden fees, mileage charges, tolls, fuel costs, or insurance costs tacked on after the fact.
Container Sizes & How the Process Works
We offer 12-, 16-, and 20-foot containers to match different household sizes. Once we deliver your container, you load it at whatever pace works for your schedule. When you’re done, we pick it up and transport it to your destination or move it into our secure storage facility until you need it delivered.
Our containers are weather-resistant, so your belongings can stay protected from water and moisture throughout the move. All transportation is handled by our own drivers, keeping your container in our hands from pickup to drop-off.
Using a Go Mini’s Container for a PPM (DITY) Move
A Personally Procured Move (PPM), commonly called a DITY move, is a military moving option where you manage the relocation yourself rather than using a government-contracted mover. Instead of coordinating around a moving crew’s arrival window, you pack and load on your own timeline. A Go Mini's of Asheville container fits this model directly: we deliver the container, you load it when you’re ready, and we handle transport to your next duty station or hold it in storage until your housing is confirmed.
Serving Hendersonville’s Military & Veteran Community
Hendersonville, NC is home to a National Guard Armory and the Henderson County Veterans Services office, which helps veterans and their dependents access U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and North Carolina Division of Veterans Affairs benefits. We’re proud to serve the service members, veterans, and military families in this community.
PCS timelines, housing availability, and deployment schedules don’t always line up cleanly. Our flexible rental periods mean your container can stay in secure storage until your situation settles, without you paying for a full-service mover who’s already moved on to the next job.
Request a Free Quote for Your Military Move
Call (828) 761-0686 or use our online contact form to request a free quote. Our pricing is transparent with no hidden fees, mileage charges, tolls, fuel costs, or insurance costs added on. When you reach out, ask about military discount availability at our location.
When you choose a Personally Procured Move, the federal government may reimburse you for up to what a government-contracted move would have cost, based on the Government Constructed Cost. If your actual costs come in below that estimate, you may keep the difference. That incentive is one reason many service members prefer the PPM route over a government-arranged move.
Documenting the reimbursement typically requires weight tickets. The process involves weighing the container or vehicle empty before loading, then again once it’s fully loaded. The difference between those two weights establishes the shipment weight used to calculate reimbursement. Requirements vary by branch and installation, so confirm the specific documentation process with your transportation office before your move date.

I Am Completely Satisfied With Go Mini's
Hayden met my every expectation from the moment she picked up my call. She was quick to answer my questions and provided me with exceptional service. My 20’ container was delivered the same day I called for help. Gary, delivery person, exceeded my expectations as well. He took the time and effort to place the container exactly where I needed it. I am completely satisfied with Go Mini's! I will use them for all of my future storage needs and share my experience with friends and colleagues. I’m grateful to have looked into my options and find such a professional company, Go Mini's.
Unfortunately, I was truly let down by the competition, POD's. They moved their agreed-to delivery date and rescheduled my delivery four days later. This resulted in time and $$ having to bring my packers and movers back for a second day to load my container.

As someone who hosts large events, having a reliable storage solution makes such a huge difference. I honestly couldn’t host my events as efficiently as I do without them. They are dependable, professional, and always make the process easy from start to finish.
I highly recommend Go Mini’s of Asheville to anyone looking for convenient, reliable, and affordable storage solutions. They’ve been such a wonderful company to work with!

Great Experience with Go Mini's
Gary came out this morning to deliver the unit. We do not have the easiest driveway (hill and a curve to get to the delivery point), but he did an awesome job getting the unit in place, ensuring it was stationary and level and that the door and placement were where I wanted them. Great experience with Go Mini's!
