Go Mini's Locations
| History
Introducing An Exciting New Way to Move And Store Goods! A businessman searched for years to find a business worthy of his expansion skills. A business requiring service excellence was important. He thought he liked the mini storage business, but months of research found a crowded industry that generally required huge investment in highly regulated and expensive visible locations. He decided there must be a better way, so he turned his efforts towards improving on the product that was already out there. A veteran of numerous mini storage rentals, he remembered all the trouble he went to with each storage experience. He would go out and find available rental space, obtain a contract for whatever size unit was available, which usually required a longer rental period than he needed, rent a truck or trailer, load, travel to the storage site and unload. Then, go turn the rental transportation in and get a ride home. All of this usually ended up taking days to get done. How could this whole process be more user-friendly and less costly to the mini storage customer? What steps in the process could be made simpler or even be eliminated? How could the mini storage business offer the service excellence the businessman required of the business? The answer would evolve with the development, design and construction of the first Go Mini's® storage container. The container's patent pending design is portable, towable, liftable, rackable, stackable and weatherproof. The concept was simple. Deliver safe, secure and weatherproof "Mini Storage On The Go" to the customer's door. The businessman knew that it would take more than a new concept container to make the business successful. So, he developed a low cost, yet highly efficient storage container on casters that is easy to maneuver and efficient to place on a customer's designated site for loading and unloading at ground level. To transport the containers to and from customers, he knew that he wanted safety first, and then ease of operation. So, he secured a contractor to develop a hydraulic, fully independent and motorized transport system for use in loading, moving and unloading his uniquely designed containers. This system, used in tandem with the Go Mini's® containers, provides an efficient and cost effective solution not previously available to the movable mini storage industry. He created an Operations Manual full of standardized procedures to make sure each Go Mini's® dealership owner had available to him/her a universal system that would help build a solid and nationally recognizable business. He wanted the customer to be able to call a single telephone number anywhere to place an order, so he developed a toll free call system to direct calls to appropriate dealer locations. He knew the customer wanted his valuable property to be safe and secure, so he built each Go Mini's® container with strong, locking roll-down doors so the contents would be secure whether stored at the customer site or at a central storage location. The new service would cost customers of the dealerships less than conventional mini storage which involved extra loading and unloading and the cost of rented vehicles. It would save the customers valuable time they could dedicate to other ventures. It would make it convenient for the customers to call any time they needed a container moved for access or unloading, or to visit the designated Go Mini's® storage location for easy access to the customer's stored items. The new service would be expanded rapidly by helping owners to establish dealerships in multiple locations. Costs to owners would be kept to a minimum with low initial dealership fees and no ongoing royalty fees. Dealership owners would be invited to own multiple dealership territories. Bill has a long history of service excellence. In 1978, he founded the commercial mail presorting and bar-coding industry with Mail Sort, Inc., which he ultimately expanded into seventeen cities across the United States. In 1983, he helped popularize the industry as a founder of the National Association of Presort Mailers. Bill has found that his greatest pleasure from business comes from the development, training, involvement and success of multiple owners of business operations. |
